I am a horticultural consultant lucky enough to own a home in Eastport. My husband, Laszlo, and I first stumbled upon this far corner of Maine in 2002. After a 2007 camping trip, we decided to make annual trips to enjoy the beauty and solitude, opting first to purchase acreage in Pembroke. As happens with many a visitor to Eastport, we became drawn to the community and purchased a home on the south end of town in 2010. We now visit monthly with the goal of becoming permanent residents in a few years.
When not in Eastport, we continue to live in Weare, New Hampshire, where I own and operate T.W.I.G. – The Way It Grows, a company we established in 2005. My certifications include AOLCP (Accredited Organic Land Care Professional) and MCSLP (Maine Certified Sustainable Landscape Professional) among others listed on my TWIG website. In addition to landscape consulting, design, installation and maintenance services, we differ from other companies in our emphasis on native and organic strategies. As we transition to Eastport living, we want to also provide educational outreach for sustainable gardening and Permaculture. Therefore, it is my pleasure to have been invited to regularly contribute articles on these topics at Go Eastport.com.
