The Eastport Gallery opens its doors for the 2013 season on June 8th with a reception for the community at 5:00 PM. The opening attractions will include both a members’ show entitled “Interpretations of Space,” and an open show, “Your Art,” in which non-member artists may submit work in the medium of their choice with a theme of their own choosing. All works should be ready to hang and brought to the Gallery by June 5th. The open show will run through June 22nd.
In addition to the members’ and open shows, the Gallery will present seven one-person shows featuring the work of June Hallowell, David Lewis, Judith Clendenning, Diana Young, Dominic Noe, Elizabeth Ostrander, and Marlys Farn-Guilette.
The extremely popular “Short Talks at Noon” will continue this year with Arthur Cadieux, Elizabeth Ostrander, Kristin McKinlay, and Diana Young among the featured speakers. The talks have become increasingly well attended and are open to the public without charge.
This season’s “Paint Eastport Day” will take place on August 31st with an auction and reception. Everyone is encouraged to submit work painted on that day to be exhibited and auctioned at the Eastport Art Center.
The Eastport Gallery members look forward to celebrating the “art spirit” with the community and encourage everyone to visit the Gallery this summer.
